Permanent full-time position with one RDO per month Starting salary at the MOA Classification Level 5 commencing at $91,877.04 + 10.5% superannuationAbout the roleThe Building Officer will play a key role in the Development Services team, with the core responsibility of the position being development assessment, building inspections, compliance and delivering high level customer service in relation to these core responsibilities.You will be part of a team of experienced building surveyors, primarily dealing with development assessment proposals involving residential and commercial developments and resulting inspections as required under the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016.About youTo be successful in this role you will have:Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or extensive experience relevant to the position.An ability to obtain and maintain a minimum accreditation to Level 3 â Building under the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016 Accredited Professionals Scheme.Experience in undertaking compliance functions as they relate to building matters.A sound understanding of the role of Local Government in planning service delivery.A detailed working knowledge of the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016, Local Government Act 1999 as well as other relevant legislation, policies and procedures.About usThe City of Unley is a vibrant and dynamic local council that provides a range of valued and diverse services to the surrounding community.
