Centrally located on the city fringe, less than 4 kilometers from the Adelaide CBD and within easy commute from many areas.The Council takes pride in engaging with our community across all areas, including but not limited to local business initiatives, community events, arts, environmental sustainability, development services, community services and volunteering programs and more.We are passionate leaders in many fields and believe that what we do makes a positive difference to our community.About the roleThe City of Unley is seeking to appoint six people to its Council Assessment Panel in the roles of Independent Presiding Member, four Independent Members and one Deputy Independent Member commencing in March 2025. The Deputy Independent Member will only attend meetings in the absence of one of the other Independent Members.The Independent Presiding Member, three Independent Members and one Deputy Independent Member are required to have obtained Planning Level 2 (Accredited Professional) at the time their application is lodged under the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016 to be considered for membership. Council does not cover the costs of obtaining or maintaining this accreditation.Residents of the City of Unley who possess the required knowledge, experience and qualifications are particularly encouraged to apply.Meetings are typically held at 6.00pm on the third Tuesday of each month at the Council Offices, with reading time for meeting papers required prior to each meeting. Council Assessment Panel Members will be appropriately remunerated per attendance.Council will select the Presiding Member from the successful independent applicants. Applicants should indicate whether they wish to be considered for this role.
